Plan your stay in a "Green" hotel, motel, resort, or bed & breakfast.
Locating an environmentally-friendly hotel is not only easier on our environment, but often times you'll be dollars ahead. You can now find many rating and certification programs evaluating the green initiatives of hotels. In the U.S. several states have designed certification programs. You will find it to be the same internationally with several countries providing certification ratings. Research the city you're traveling to and find out if there is a state or country program for eco-friendly properties. Research your destination in one of the numerous great Environmental directories online. Naturally, when searching for a place to stay in Kingsport our favourite is iStayGreen.org

More Kingsport Resorts Green Tips
Get some brisk air & workout, walk or cycle rather than renting.
You'll find that in major cities there usually are excellent transportation systems in-place. There are usually a number of choices for the eco friendly traveler that leaves the car at the rental lot, including alternatives like subway, taxi, shuttle service, light rail and others. Pay the public transportation systems a try and don't rent a car unless it's mandatory. If the length is short try walking from your Kingsport hotel. Pedal power is a much better option than fossil fuel if the distance is not excessively far-off. Experiment with one of the alternatives above and be a superior eco-citizen.
Position the "Do Not Disturb" notice on your room door.
Give housekeeping a call and inform them you won't be needing their services. A lot of resources are required when a Kingsport hotel room is cleaned. It requires water, electricity, soap and gas to clean the sheets and towels. Keep your bath room clean yourself and trim the necessity for use of toxic chemicals and cleaning solvents. It consumes power to clean up the dirt. Try bringing your own shampoo & soap and don't even consume the hotels products, and you'll help keep allot of plastic out of the non-biodegradable waste. In most cases daily room service is not actually needed and you'll be helping the environment by not having your hotel room cleaned everyday.
Is a trip truly needed?
You'll find several diverse internet meeting solutions that enable video conference and sharing of documents with both presenters and delegates. These alternatives are so good that you can work your business from your office instead of flying. Certainly there will be times when you simply must go to Kingsport and pay a visit to the person. Nonetheless, if every business could trade some flights with an internet meeting things would begin looking up for our collective environment.
