Ontario Luxury Hotel Green Tip
Search for Environmentally Friendly lodging.
Selecting an environmentally-friendly accommodation is not only easier on our environment, but often times you'll get a better deal. You can now find many evaluation and certification programs evaluating the environmental efforts of hotels. In the U.S. numerous states have created certification programs. The same holds true internationally with many countries offering certification evaluations. Search where you'll be staying and see if there is a country or state program for eco-friendly properties. Research the city you'll be traveling to in one of the numerous fine Environmental directories on the Internet. Of course, when searching for a place to stay in Ontario our preference is iStayGreen.org
Ontario CA Hotels and other Ontario Accommodations and their status towards being "Green".
There are 7 eco-friendly Ontario hotels in the iStayGreen.org directory out of a total of 36 Ontario Lodging properties. Presently 3 properties have completed the online Environmental Audit and earned the Green Eco-Leaf Rating while the other 4 hotels are purported to be eco-friendly although have not yet made known their green-initiatives to us.
We are hopeful that in the approximate future the iStayGreen.org online service will be positioned to bring to you the "Green" position of a majority of the htoels & motels in Ontario but currently there are 29 hotels we haven't yet heard back from. There are 448 hotels out of a total of 3617 CA properties that are indicated as environmentally friendly in our directory. Presently there are 249 hotels that have earned the Green Eco-Leaf Rating. Various accommodations are heading toward a "Green" future in travel including Ontario extended stay hotels, bed & breakfasts, luxury hotels, and Ontario resorts.
We encourage you to be good to the environment by checking first to determine if there is an environmentally friendly property located near your intended destination.
"Green" Ontario accommodations are typically run more efficiently than their non-green counterparts and will often pass their financial savings along to their guests.
With more hotels guests seeking environmentlly friendly options, we will see an increase in properties responding to the dictates of their customers and greening up their operations.

Say "No" to rental cars and walk, cycle, or ride public transit.
You'll find that in major cities there usually are excellent transportation systems in-place. Major municipalities are typically serviced by various public transit systems which include light rail, bus, train, trolley, subway, elevated rail, shuttle and taxi services. When you count the expense of the rental car, parking, valet, gas, and insurance the public transit system becomes a nifty eco-friendly option. When staying at one of the downtown Ontario hotels you most likely will find what you need within walking distance. Most downtown areas nowadays offer bike rentals as a great way to traverse the city. Reduce carbon emissions, use less fossil fuel, and most likely save money using alternate transportation.
There are outstanding alternatives to traveling.
There are several various online meeting solutions that allow video conference and you the ability to share and edit documents with both presenters and delegates. The online solutions are so good that you can conduct business from your desk rather than traveling. When in-person meetings to Ontario are mandatory, then certainly you'll need to travel. Still, if every business could trade some flights with an internet meeting things would start looking up for our shared environment.
Keep room service out using the "Do Not Disturb" sign.
Give housekeeping a ring and let them know you won't be needing their services. Water - energy - gas - chemicals - and more are used every time your Ontario room is cleaned. To enjoy sheets and towels it requires lots of water, soap, electricity, and gas. The bathroom areas are often cleaned with chemicals. Vacuuming the carpet requires electric power. Pack your own toiletries, it will keep allot of plastic out of our dumps. Daily housekeeping is usually not a need and you'll help to conserve treasured resources by not having your suite freshened up daily.
