Require transparency from the properties you visit and don't allow them to get away with "Greenwashing". Make sure you know what they're doing to protect the environment.

Why travel when you can teleconference?
There are several diverse internet meeting solutions that allow video conference and sharing of documents with both presenters and delegates. These alternatives are so good that you can do business from your office or home rather than flying. More often than not the personal meeting in San Diego is required.
